"Women after the age of 35 always face a risk of suffering from hyper tension and heart diseases (that is much more pronounced in the menopausal stage). Further there is an increased risk of Osteoporosis," says Dr S Sudersanan, psychiatrist, BLK Memorial Hospital. Along with a balanced lifestyle, women need to keep a strict tab on their diet. Ritika Samaddar, consultant dietician, Max Healthcare says, "A regular intake fruits, vegetables, dal, milk and milk products is needed. Ladies should consume enough quantity of fluids such as limewater, juices, coconut water and refrain from caffeine and aerated drinks as these dehydrate the body." Women after the age of 35 must walk, jog, swim and do yoga to maintain a healthy body. High level of physical stress leads to diseases such as cervical, uterus and breast cancer. But going into depression is dangerous as it can lead to several related diseases. "To overcome stress, time management is very important. Prioritising and designating responsibility is also necessary", suggests Dr Sudersanan.
