Application
Procedure and Guidelines

who wish to obtain the relevant application form
through e-mail (as an attachment in MS-Word format) may send a request
to
ip@usief.org.in,
specifying the grant category in the
subject line.
Application material
may be obtained in person from a USIEF office. If making a request by
mail, send a self-addressed stamped (Rs. 45) A4 envelope to the USIEF
office in your region. Please state your academic/professional
qualifications, date of birth, present position, and fellowship category
in your request letter.
Completed
applications (including enclosures, if any) must be
submitted through the appropriate administrative authority
(Vice-Chancellor/Registrar/Director/Principal), if applicable, to the
USIEF office within your region. Applicants
are requested to submit separate applications if
applying for more than one fellowship category. Applications must reach
USIEF by the specified due date or the following business day if the due
date falls on a weekend/holiday.
In the case of central or
state government employees, a copy of the completed application should
be forwarded through the cadre controlling authority. Such candidates
are also advised to send an advance copy (a photocopy
of the completed application) to USIEF, New Delhi well before the
application due date. Consideration will, however, be given only
if the application forwarded by the cadre controlling authority reaches
USIEF by the due date.
Incomplete
applications or applications not forwarded through the proper channel
will not be considered.
Applicants are also advised
to request three referees to send in their
recommendations, either on the Reference Report Form or the referee's
letterhead (as specified in the Preliminary Application Form). The
recommendations should be sent to the Executive Director, USIEF, 12
Hailey Road, New Delhi 110 001 by the application due date.
In case of employed candidates, the employer's comments in the
application form must indicate that leave will be granted for the
fellowship.
All entries in the
application form must be computer-generated. A completed application
should not be sent as an attachment through e-mail.
