Alumni UAE Chapter
SUVARNA RAGAM 2011

As part of the Golden
Jubilee celebrations of our
Institute (NIT Calicut, formerly REC
Calicut), UAE Chapter of NITC Alumni
is organising a mega event titled “SUVARNA
RAGAM 2011” which will be held
on
Friday, 4th of February
2010 at the JSS
International School Auditorium, Al
Barsha South, Dubai, UAE (route map
given below). This will be an
international meet of the Alumni
from all the GCC Countries, India
and the other parts of the world.
The festivities will start on 3rd
evening with the arrival of
invitees. Many events are being
planned by members for year-wise
get-togethers. The major function
will be on 4th (will
start mid-morning and continue till
late evening, details are below). On
5th, an informal / fun
event is being planned.
The main focus of the
event will be to promote close
coordination between various NITC
Alumni Chapters around the world
and to work closely with our Alma
Mater for mutual benefit. The
programs includes Inauguration by
Chief Guest, Release of Souvenir,
talks by Alumni who are industry
leaders, interaction with past
Principals, Professors & staff,
discussions on how to make school
education more relevant to life,
especially in the field of Science /
Engineering & Technology, promote
Green technology & sustainable
development, Infrastructure
development in India – Challenge or
Opportunity, etc. There will also be
social & cultural events. We have
got in touch with Alumni Chapters in
Muscat, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, KSA,
Kochi, Calicut, Bangalore, Chennai &
Mumbai. The response has been highly
encouraging.
One of our Alumni,
Dr. Suresh Manimala, who is a
Management consultant, media
professional and an accomplished
musician (he did the Music direction
for the movie Pattinte Palazhi) has
agreed to coordinate & present a
musical extravaganza in the evening.
Ajit of Hit FM Dubai (again our
Alumni) will provide active support
for the whole event.
It gives us immense
