M.G.Sreekumar is a popular singer from South
Indian film industry. He has sung more than 3,000 songs across a number of
films in Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi and Telugu. M.G.Sreekumar had won Indian
National Award two times, apart from many state awards.
In 2000, he received National award for the song Chante Pottum .. in the
film Vasanthiyum Lekshmiyum Pinne Nanum. In 2010, he received the Asianet
Film Award and Asiavision Movie Award for the best music director (Oru Naal
Varum) and in 2008 he received the Asianet Film Award for the best singer
(Innathe Chintha Vishayam).
With a career of over 25 years, he is one of the prominent male singers in the
Malayalam film industry. He is known for matching his voice with Malayalam
actor, Mohanlal. He is the youngest brother of music director M. G.
Radhakrishnan and singer K Omanakutty.
He is currently anchoring a TV show named SaReGaMa on Asianet and is a
judge for the reality show Idea Star Singer.
M. G. Sreekumar had worked as
music director in Malayalam films such as Chathurangam (2002), and
Thandavam (2002). Sreekumar's latest movies as music director are
Priyadarshan's Kanchivaram (2008), Mohanlal's Alexander the Great
and Oru Naal Varum
