Director. Abhinay Deo
Cast: Imran Khan, Kunnal Roy Kapur, Poorna Jagannathan
DELHI BELLI , directed by Abhinay Deo, starring
Imran. Khan, Kunaal Roy Kapur, Poorna Jagannathan, Vir Das and Shenaz is a film
by Amir Khan Productions and UTV Motion Pictures. Written by Akshat Verma the
story revolves round three bachelors Tashi, Arun and Nitin - flat mates, buddies
and partners in crime.
Tashi is to get married in a month but still doesn't know if his fiancée is
THE ONE! Arun can't make up his mind who he wants to kill first - his girlfriend
(who has just dumped him) or his stupid, annoying boss (whose idea of creativity
is sketching a smiling banana).
And Nitin is about to discover that eating delicious Tandoori Chicken off a
street vendor is going to give him the worst case of Delhi Belly he's ever
known!
Three regular blokes, living the regular life except for one small detail- they
are on the hit list of one of the world's deadliest crime syndicates.
Will they be able to get away before the roof and it comes crashing down? Delhi
Belly is the meanest comedy you're ever likely to see.
Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor and Chitrangada Singh were to star in the film.
After both of them backed oft', Amir signed his nephew Imran Khan for the
lead role. Shooting for the film began in August 2008 in Delhi.
This film was written by Los Angeles-based writer Akshat Verma. It was thrown
into a pile of scripts in Amir Khan's office, where Kiran Rao randomly picked
it, read it and began to laugh.
Soon it was read by Amir Khan who contacted the writer who was initially
hesitant that it might ruin the clean, family entertainment tag of Aamir Khan
Productions.
The music of the ,ffim was composed by Ram Sampath while the lyrics were penned
by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Munna Dhiman, Ram Sampath, Akshat Verma and
ChetanShashitw. The lyrics of the song Bhaag D K Bose Aandhi Aayi created
controversy upon the song's release.
