The Sahwa Park  that is positioned at the centre linking the Governorate of Muscat to other regions of the country, is aimed at providing residents of the area and visitors to the region a chance to get together and to allow children to play in open areas amid a garden setting in the vicinity of Muscat International Airport. This is very close to Muscat City Centre

The park features Islamic-type architecture with computer-operated water fountains that can change the shade and shape of the water according to the rhythmic flow and a tour of the piazza. The park also has family rest areas, a circular yard connecting all the works of the park including the Al Sahwa Square and six Islamic gardens of geometric shapes, coffee shops, a restaurant and a mosque.

On holidays, the parking area will be  filled to its maximum capacity to such an extent that visitors were forced to park their vehicles towards the wadi area and the surrounding residential neighbourhood near the petrol station. The park also becomes  home to youths seeking to show their sporting skills such as roller skating and traditional folklore and children riding on horses and horse carts.

The park  also becomes a magnet for children to play on the sandy ground on slides, swings and ladders. Children also gets a chance to splash in computer controlled water fountains as adults and elderly looked on or availed an opportunity to walk around and jog.

On official holidays including Thursdays and Fridays, the park is open from 9 am to mid night. The children’s splash water fountain is open from 8 pm to 10 pm. On other days, the park is open from 6 pm to midnight.
