There are a lot of preventive acts they do to ensure the security of their house, such as choosing great quality of door lock, building huge and strong garden fence, or installing security system. However, those efforts will not work effectively if you yourself do not aware about best way in creating safe and safety living environment. These tips might be helpful for you to reduce the risk of burglary in your home.

The most important thing to do is making sure that the doors and windows of your house are properly locked. Mostly, burglary happens because people are careless in keeping their doors and windows locked, so burglars can sneaking in and out your house easily to take all your valuables. Then, it is better for you to not open the door for somebody you do not recognize or somebody you do not expect to come. It will be quite risky to do that because you never know what they want. Or, you can still accept them as you guests after you ask for their ID, especially if they are using uniforms.

Then, it is better to change your door lock regularly in a certain period of time. If you just move to a certain new house, it will be thoughtful to replace the door locks of the new house with the new ones. Therefore, the risk of burglary could be reduced. Installing certain security system is also important to improve the security level of your house. You can choose security lighting to be installed in your yard or motion detector to be installed in your garden fence or your doors and windows.

The last thing to do will be quite conventional, but it is effective enough to make any burglars think twice before sneaking into your house. Keeping a dog will be quite helpful in reducing the risk of burglary, at least in making the burglars thing about handling the dog before doing their crime. Adding a warning board of "Beware of the Dog" is also a good choice.

By applying those tips, you can have less risk of having some burglars as your unexpected guest. You should remember the main point that burglary is a matter of chance. Once you are careless in keeping your living environment secure, burglars can easily choose you as their victim.
