Arumugam Mohanasundaram, popularly known as Loose Mohan, was a Tamil film
actor who had acted as a comedian in over 1000 films. He passed away on
September 16th Sunday 2012 .He was 84.
Mohan’s breakthrough movie as a comedian was the 1979 film Rosapoo
Ravikaikari. In 2000, Mohan was awarded the Kalaimamani award by the Government
of Tamil Nadu. Mohan’s claim to fame was he popularised Madras Bashai, an unique
dialect of Tamil language spoken in Chennai city. His dialogue delivery was the
comedian's biggest selling point.
Mohan acted in his last film role in 2002 in Azhagi. He was forced to quit
acting due to his deteriorating health. In 2009, Mohan filed a case against his
son Karthik for neglecting his health
