SOHAR — The citizens in the Wilayat of Sohar
went out on 18th November in a 'loyalty march' for the leader, His
Majesty
Sultan Qaboos, on the occasion of the 41st Glorious National Day. They carried a
1,000 metre-long flag. The flag was preceded by a number of citizens carrying
the portraits of His Majesty the Sultan.
They started with the flag on their vehicles from the crossroads of Al Multaqa
area till Falaj al Qabael roundabout while chanting the national songs that
express their happiness of the glorious National Day and the achievements made
in this land throughout the last 41 years of the blessed Renaissance under the
wise leadership of His Majesty the Sultan.
During the loyalty march, the citizens expressed their sincere heartfelt thanks
and appreciation to His Majesty on the occasion of the 41st
National Day. They renewed the pledge and loyalty appealing to Almighty to grant
His Majesty the Sultan a long life. The flag has been decided to be the longest
in the Sultanate — 1,000-metre long and 5-metre wide, total area of about 5,000
square metres.
The celebrations of the citizens in the Wilayat
of Sohar will continue with Yola competitions and national songs and poems that
express their happiness of the glorious November 18.
Tomorrow, the best decorated car on the occasion of the 41st National Day will
be selected. Winners of Yola and the best three decorated cars will receive
financial awards.
DINNER HOSTED: Shaikh Mohammed bin Marhoon al Maamari, Minister of State and
Governor of Dhofar hosted a dinner yesterday at Crowne Plaza Resort in Salalah
on the occasion of the 41st Glorious National Day.
The dinner was attended by Shaikh Abdullah bin Saif al Mahrouqi, Deputy Governor
of Dhofar, members of Majlis Addawla and Majlis Ash’shura in the Governorate of
Dhofar, under-secretaries, advisers, walis, senior civil and military officials,
shaikhs, dignitaries and citizens. — ONA
