ISEET- Indian Science Engineering Eligibility Test ISEET to Replace AIEEE and IIT-JEE from 2013
TestFunda : Some of India’s oldest and most prestigious entrance exams are soon to going to give way to a new entity – a consolidated entrance exam that will change the way students enter the hallowed IITs and equally renowned NITs, along with a host of other institutes.
A meeting was held by the Joint Admission Board of IITs on February 18, 2012 to take a final decision on conducting the national level common entrance test for admissions to various science and engineering programs in India. The IIT heads participated in the meeting to discuss the single entrance test and the terms and conditions for the same. The test has already been approved by the IIT Council. The details of the ISEET examination (available so far) are as follows:
Structure: ISEET Main + ISEET Advanced Duration: 3 hours each between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. on the same day.
Coverage: ISEET Main (Objective
Test) – Logical Reasoning, Critical Thinking and Comprehension ISEET Adavnced – Problem Solving Skills in Basic Science Subjects Weightage: At least 40% to Class XII Board Exams (Can go up to 100%)Maximum of 60% to ISEET scores
The schedule of declaring ISEET results is yet to be decided so as to co-ordinate with the Board Results and provide a consolidated scorecard with all 3 scores.
