It is said that Lord Rama granted salvation to the entire Ayodhya — not only the people, animals and beings but also the inanimate aspects like grass, stone, etc.
At the time of His departure from Ayodhya at the end of His reign, He wished Hanuman to accompany Him to Vaikunta, His abode. Hanuman was so devoted to Rama that he wished to remain in this earth and savour the inexhaustible greatness of Rama avatar. Hanuman chose to remain in this earth as long as Rama's story was read, sung, discussed, debated or interpreted. Hanuman is known as the auspicious feet of the Lord (Tiruvadi) since he shows by example the Bhakti which leads one to salvation.
Hanuman is introduced in Kishkinta Kanda when he speaks words of reassurance to Sugriva who is gripped with fear when he spots two young men with bows and arrows in the vicinity. Sugriva did not mince matters and expresses his fear to Hanuman that these two could be in partnership with Vali. He advises Hanuman to find out about the antecedents of these two men and asks him to go in the guise of a hermit.
Hanuman then establishes his presence in their midst by beginning a conversation. His words reflect his knowledge of the Vedas, his proficiency in grammar, and his superior intelligence which Rama is quick to notice, said Sri V. Karunakarachariar in a lecture. First impressions are believed to make a striking impact and Rama's appreciation of Hanuman's excellences is a fitting tribute to him. Rama says that an envoy of this calibre is the greatest asset to a king; and that his enthralling speech is capable of even diverting the attack of even an enemy with a drawn sword.
When Krishna, as the charioteer of Arjuna, spoke in the battlefield on metaphysical and philosophical truths to bring clarity to a confused Arjuna, it is presumed that both sides of the army must have stood aside to listen. Vasudeva's persuasive speech prevented Kamsa from killing his beloved sister Devaki, This impulsive reaction was stirred when a celestial voice prophesied his death at the hands of eighth child of Devaki.
