Stan Lee's Superhumans is a documentary
television series that debuted August 5, 2010 on History. It is hosted by
comic book superhero creator Stan Lee and follows contortionist Daniel
Browning Smith, "the most flexible man in the world", as he searches the
globe for real-life superhumans – people with extraordinary physical or
mental abilities.
Stan Lee ( host)
Stan Lee’s influence over comic books is incalculable. Several of his
co-creations–including Spider-Man, X-Men and Iron Man–have led to monster
movie hits, helping to establish Marvel Comics as the leader of the comic
book industry.
Some of Lee’s other great co-creations, such as the Hulk, the Fantastic Four
and Daredevil, have sequels on the way,
while Thor, the Avengers and the Silver Surfer, among many others, are now
in development.
In 2008, President Bush presented Lee with a National Medal of the Arts in
recognition of his incredible career.
Stan is currently developing movie and television projects with his company,
POW! Entertainment, while still proudly bearing the title of Marvel’s
Chairman Emeritus.
Daniel Browning Smith
Daniel Browning Smith discovered his extreme flexibility at the age of
four. While roughhousing with his siblings in Meridian,
Mississippi, he jumped off a bunk bed and landed in a split. From that
moment on, he developed a fascination with contortionism and resolved to
become the greatest contortionist the world has ever seen.
Daniel went on to tour with a traveling sideshow and train with Master Lu Yi
in the ancient art of Chinese acrobatics. He now holds the Guinness World
Record for most flexible man, as well as six other world records for his
flexibility.
Daniel can do almost anything with his body, from dislocating both his arms
and legs to rotating his torso 180 degrees.
