Govt ups SMS limit from five to 20 a day:Government
on Thursday reversed the curb on bulk SMS and MMS, raising the permissible
limit from five to 20.
According to a Ministry of Communications
notification, mobile users can send a maximum of 20 SMSes at one go and 25
kb of data through mobile phones from Thursday.
The home ministry had banned bulk SMSes and
MMSes from August 17 to prevent spread of rumours which had led to mass

Department of Telecommunications to implement the order through telecom
operators.
